Located in the historic village of Piffard, The Yard of Ale offers a standard dinner menu with a fine dining focus as well as a “featured menu” each week. The featured menu showcases specialty and seasonal ingredients prepared by Chef Brian Simmons. A local favorite is the slow-roasted Angus beef prime rib.
At the bar, a list of craft beers and wines is available along with drink specials and a Thursday happy hour.
Yard of Ale is committed to using sustainable, as well as local ingredients whenever possible. The restaurant has partnered with Pleasantview Farm, a local produce farm, to supply the majority of fresh produce from Spring through Fall. The menu also utilizes fresh vegetables grown in the on-site kitchen garden and herbs from our herb garden. All organic waste generated from our kitchen is utilized in compost to enrich the soil in our gardens.
Dinner is served six days a week. A tavern menu is available for customers wishing for a more casual meal. Lunch service is available upon request and reservation for larger groups (25 and more).
The upper level of the restaurant's historic building includes a banquet room and smaller dining room. A wide selection of meal combinations for served dinners or buffet service are available for special events.
